Professor Silvia Giordani gave an Invited MAK'IT Seminar - 'Women in Science' - during her visit at University of Montpellier
During her visit at the University of Montpellier, France, Prof. Silvia Giordani gave a seminar on the 26th where she shared her personal journey, breaking barriers and promoting diversity in science, technology, engineering, mathematics, and medicine (STEMM).
Silvia Giordani is full Professor Chair of Nanomaterials at the School of Chemical Sciences at Dublin City University (DCU) where she acted as Head of School from 2020 to 2023. She is the recipient of many awards, including the L’Oréal UK & Ireland Fellowship For Women in Science and the Leonardo-UGIS Award for a young researcher/communicator in 2012.
In the last twenty years she has accumulated extensive science communication experience. In addition to conferences she talked at wide audience events, women in science workshops, students outreach events etc.
