Michał Bartkowski earned his BSc (Hons) in Pharmaceutical Chemistry from Dublin City University (DCU) in 2019. After a six-month research project on the use of carbon nano-onions for drug delivery in the group of Prof. Silvia Giordani, he received an Irish Research Council GOIPG scholarship (no.: GOIPG/2019/1820) to start a PhD under Prof. Giordani’s guidance on the ‘Engineering of Nanomaterials for Cancer Therapy’, at DCU. His research focuses on the preparation and functionalisation of carbon nanomaterials and their use as nanocarriers for targeted anticancer treatments and bioimaging agents. At the completion of his PhD, Michał earned the DCU Outstanding Graduate Researcher Award (OGRA). Since the 1st of July 2024, Michał has been a postdoctoral researcher in the Giordani group, supported by Prof. Giordani’s Science Foundation Ireland (SFI) grant (no.: 2/FFP-A/11067).
